Three of the Best Tech to Take with You on Vacation

Work is stressful. Getting to work is ridiculous with the constant braking and lane changing. Getting off of work is even more painful because you add on the desire to get home. When you get home, there is the stress of taking care of the multitude of responsibilities you have in your personal life. Stress, stress, and more stress every which way you turn.

Three of the Best Tech to Take with You on Vacation

If you are feeling stressed to the point where you can’t take it anymore, then it is probably time to get away from it all. Plan yourself a vacation getaway; take a trip somewhere where you can relax, have some fun, and go on some adventures.

As you pack for your trip, don’t forget to pack the essentials; and by essentials, we are meaning the devices you take along with your clothes and passport and cash. Even though part of our daily stress is caused by the devices we use, there are certain ones that you will want to take with you. Below are some of the tech you need to take on any vacation.

Smartphone

This one seems obvious but some people leave their phones at home because their phone service does not extend to foreign countries (at least not cheaply). There are other reasons you need to bring your smartphone.

Firstly, it has a built in 20 to 40 megapixel camera capable of taking some extremely detailed pictures. If you do not own or intend to bring a professional quality camera, these will capture your favorite moments of your trip.

Secondly, they also hold all of your stored music. This will be handy for the trip to your destination or to recover from an active adventure during the day. Listening to your favorite tunes can help you relax at the end of the day.

Thirdly, it can still act as a communication device, though not in the way you prefer…

GoTenna

If you ever go on a hiking excursion or a kayaking trip down the river, and you get separated from the rest of your group, then you will want to carry along a couple of goTennas. These act as antennas for your cell phones, allowing you to stay in contact with your group should you get lost.

These work up to a range of approximately three miles and will let you send text messages between members of your party or tour group. If you are on your excursion alone it would still be good to have one of these on you.

Should one of these scenarios occur and you have no one there to help, you can still send out messages of help. Anyone with the goTenna app on their cell phone should be able to pick up the message and give you a hand.

Fire Stick

Amazon’s Fire Stick is a great little item to pack for your vacation, and it takes up so little space. Any hotel or Airbnb house you stay in with a TV that has a HDMI connector will be a good place to use your Fire Stick. Regardless of the country you visit, as long as you have the aforementioned requirements and a Wi-Fi connection, you will be able to watch TV the way you want to watch.

What if you speak English and you are traveling to France? The movies and shows on TV will most likely be in French. If you didn’t take French as a second language, you will have no idea what they are saying. For some better TV viewing that you can actually understand, use your Fire Stick to stream your favorite movies and shows in your native language.
